3:00 to 5:00. don't away. we'll talk more when i see you next. a memorial service for the police reservist found dead more than a hundred miles from his home. kevin quick's family will meet today. his car and his body were found days after he went missing in richmond. four people are charged in connection with his death. in loudoun county deputies are looking for a man linked to a series of robberies. robberies date back to december. officers think this man held up at least four women in the sterling area. authorities say each woman was alone when they were approached. the attacker pulled out a gun and demanded they hand over their wallet. d.c. police have two men in custody who may be connected to

the shooting of an 8-year-old girl. karie brown and nathaniel patent were arrested. the two claim they went to an apartment to buy pot. michaela answered the door. the pair claim another man pull aid gun on them that went off. they then fired shots of their own presumably hitting michaela. michaela remains in the icu in the hospital. outrage this morning after a jury's controversial decision. a florida man charged in the murder of a teenager is going to jail but not for the most serious charge against him. the jury was deadlocked on first degree murder against 47-year-old michael dunn. the state attorney plans to retry thcharge. he's charged with three lesser

counts. back in 2012 dunn argued with pay group of three people inside an suv over the loud music coming from that vehicle. dunn fired ten shots. 17-year-old jordan davis was hit and died from his yours. dunn says it was self-defense. the teen was not armed. this has sparked outcry because of the race of the gunman and victim. >> race was the elephant in the room that was not discussed. we have got to deal with how the perception of young black men. >> he's not walking. they did what they were humanly able to do. what we can do is hope for a different end and additional trial. >> a sentencing hearing will be set next month. dunn faces more than 90 years in prison for the attempted murder convictions. mixture of snow, freezing rain and shift in temperatures

is taking it's toll on the roads. potholes are popping up. derrick ward is live in arlington with more on this growing problem. we talked about this on faceb k facebook. seems like everybody has been hit by a pothole. >> reporter: oh yeah, everybody has. they're quite familiar with them. when people show up in the community, we say what are you here for? they automatically say you're here for the pothole aren't you? people are maneuvering around it. this is actually a bit of a reputation here in this neighborhood. we found people taking a picture of this pothole. we've seen a couple of cars hit it. people have come by and told us they can hear it at night when it's harder to see. they hear that sound of the car hitting the pothole. some actually bottoming out. we talked to one local resident

good news for everybody turning more winter weary t warm aing trend we started talking about a couple of days ago is hanging out towards the second half of the week. for now, off you to a quiet start. fair amount of sunshine in washington. temperatures moving up slowly. we're below freezing in most neighborhoods. there's a chance of flurries this afternoon. anything coming off the great lakes doesn't bring us much of a snow threat. conversational snow threats are a possibility. we could even see snowflakes in the washington area. best timing, five to six hours away by 2:00 to 4:00 afternoon. by then temperatures are above freeze. no accumulations as a result. no watches, warnings, advisories of any kind out there. the winter chill we're dealing with will start to relax.

the cold morning is underway. plan on temperatures in the 20s and 30s. wind chills back to 20s and low 30s. there's a couple of chances for snowflakes. first one comes this afternoon won't add up to anything. the next one that needs to be watch add is coming early tuesday morning. we have a good chance of getting at least an inch of snow in washington and maybe two to three in far northern and western suburbs. we'll watch that closely. pattern change comes in tuesday and wednesday. it's cold now. 29 washington with wind chill of 21. cloudy skies could lead to a snow flurry or two. that's it. back to 20s by 10:00. tomorrow morning, clear skies and back down to teens.

>> now investigators aren't sure if the man was a stow away but do though the expect foul play. the fairfax medical examiner's office be do an autopsy. a family is in mourning after finding out one of their loved ones died in a fire. he died near the university campus. the business major was from maryland. two others in the home were able to get out in time. investigators are looking into how the fire started. expect delays on metro to continue through tomorrow. metro closed dupont circle metro station and farragut. those will reopen tuesday. tomorrow metro will open at 5:00 a.m. and close at midnight president's day. trains will run on a saturday schedule. you can park for free at metro owned lots and garages. metro's new silver line will

impact bus service across northern virginia we're learning. the fairfax connecter will add a service with three routes in at this son quarter. new routes will be launched at the courthouse stops. it will be called the silver line express moving from the west fall church to wylie avenue metro station. the fare drops to $5. so faro date has been set. headlights as far as the eyes could see on the la highway. some are calling this mess jamzilla. construction crews are paving six miles of the highway. that's bottle necking traffic. locals had weeks of warning to prepare, but that did not seem to help. drivers will be dealing with

a construction project on a new sky scraper involving more than 200 trucks and 2100 trips to shut that will concrete. a russian satellite will have a crash landing on earth today. experts believe the unmanned object will land in the ocean. it will land quickly as russia has no control over it making it essentially a free fall. and why pressure is on olympic veterans for team usa.

people have quite a challenge navigating with compromised lanes due to snow banks all over. we caught up with people sort of making the best with this. a woman stood in with a dog and had a picture taken. she told us what she would like to do with that pothole. >> i'm a regular commuter and obviously have to avoid the pothole. it's hard to miss. i'm a chef. i wanted to fill it with rainbow sprinkles sort of as an intervention. >> reporter: that could be some kind of contest. how many rainbow sprinkles would it take to fill that pothole that can pretty much take a tire. the district is going to start there pothole in mid march. they're promising a short turnarounds, 48 hours from reporting to having it if ied. here in arlington, you can contacts the city government and report potholes as well. this one has already got a reputation and been reported. i think its days are
